FAQ
“So… what do you do exactly?”
I help people eat right for their goals. Session one I assess you and give you a meal plan (easy to follow and customized). The rest of our sessions I educate you so you have the power to manage your own nutrition. There is problem solving, support, re-measuring etc. We meet once a month. See my rates page for packages.
“I eat pretty well. Do I need a nutritionist?”
You can eat healthy food in the wrong amounts and it will work against you. Common mistakes: Snacks like apples or nuts, or breakfast of oats, yogurt and berries. All these things are healthy, but they’re all incomplete and therefore cause weight gain and low energy.
If you’re on some kind of diet, it’s probably wrong. How can I assume that? I’ve never met someone who eats right.
“I know what to do, I just don’t do it.”
A big part of my job is helping people fit nutrition into their lives. Everyone needs a coach to make significant changes. You can better results with less restriction.
Think about who taught you how to eat. They meant well but it probably wasn't a nutritionist. (Some meal plans from nutritionists/dietitians are not effective – there are good in bad in every profession)
“I don’t want to go on a diet.”
Great. Let’s make small changes. That’s what successful people do.
“You are expensive!”
I’m in the mid-range of my profession. In terms of results, a few sessions with me can add years to your life and take inches off your waist. Meanwhile personal trainers are pitching packages of $1000 to $3500. I am about 10% the cost for more results.
Please see my group rates to save even more.
“Are you covered on extended health insurance or OHIP?”
OHIP no. Some companies have “general health use” that you can write off anything. You may be able to write me off as a personal trainer.
“Do you practice what you preach?”
Yes. But I didn’t always. First I needed the knowledge. Then through small changes over time I have shifted to excellent nutrition.
